There is a village in Cumbria, in the north west of England, which bears the name Winskill not far from Keswick and close to Penrith, in the area of England known as the Lake District. We have visited the village and although it is a small village, the beauty of the area makes it a place to visit again.

We learnt, some time ago, that the Winskill's have been scattered around the globe but the majority live in the UK, the highest concentration being in the Lancashire area, which is close to Cumbria. Opposite is a list of countries with estimated population numbers.
